Installing IIS Server under Windows 2000 and Windows XP (Professional)
Overview: This article shows how to install IIS (Internet Information Server) Under Windows 2000 and Windows XP (Professional) and then how to configure the server.
Windows 95,98,ME Users can use Microsoft Personal Web Server (PWS) or any other web server.
We are basically going to Install IIS5 which comes along with Windows 2000 and Windows XP (Professional).

You would be needing the Operating System CD or the Service Pack before you continue.
If you are running Windows N.T you would need to install IIS4, that is available with NT service packs. |

Installing IIS on Windows 2000 / Windows XP (Professional)
1. Load your Windows Installtion CD in the computer.
2. Go to your Control Panel then click on Add/Remove Programms then Click on Add/Remove Windows Components.
3. A screen simmilar to the above image will appear scroll down and click on the Internet Information Services (IIS) check box and then click Next to install IIS.
